Event update: January 10th is a bright and beautifully calm winter day. The statue lift is taking place as planned.

The gold gilded statue of Our Lady will be lifted in place around 10:30am CST, preceded by Christ the King and St. Louis de Montford and followed by St. Cyril of Alexandria.

The first set of marble statues will be hoisted into position on their pedestals on the exterior of the Immaculata (weather permitting) beginning with the statue of Our Lady at the top of the cupola, followed by St. Louis de Montfort, then Christ the King and the belfry crosses, and lastly St. Cyril of Alexandria.

The Immaculata

This statue of Our Lady stands 12-feet tall and weighs 1,500 lbs. It is made of technical marble and gilt in gold to glow atop the cupola of the Immaculata. She will be the iconic patron of church.

Christ the King

This life-sized Carrara marble statue weights approx. 2,200 lbs and will be placed on the top pedestal of the west façade of the Immaculata, proclaiming His Kingship over all.

Saint Louis de Montfort

This 6-foot tall Carrara marble statue weights approx. 2,200 lbs and will will be placed on the south transept of the Immaculata.

Saint Cyril of Alexandria

This 6-foot tall Carrara marble statue weights approx. 2,200 lbs and will be placed on the north transept of the Immaculata.

 

The crosses topping each belfry will also be installed.

 

Four more statues will arrive at a later date from Italy. These will be:

  • Saint Ignatius of Loyola

  • Bishop John Baptiste Miege

  • Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre

  • Saint Pius X
